Homefixers: Springing into action!

Welcome to the Spring edition of our Homefixers newsletter! With so much going on, this is our way of keeping the members of the Homefixers family (yes, you!) up to date, and in the loop. In this month’s edition we’ve got news of our newest staff member, a great tie-up with Rikki’s taxi service, and some fantastic specials and savings just for you :)

New addition to the Homefixers family

In early August, our fabulous receptionist and office manager Claire left us to pursue her calling in a different field. Having been with us from the get-go four years ago, it was always going to be difficult to say goodbye, and you’ll be missed, Claire-bear! But, with all change comes new opportunity, and this one has meant that we’ve been introduced to our newest team member – Wendy Johannes – who’s taking over the position. Wendy made a striking impression straight off the bat in her first interview, and hasn’t looked back since – settling in like an absolute pro. We look forward to having her on board, and are loving the fact that her luscious locks match our corporate colours perfectly!

Homefixers on the move

A few weeks ago, we were approached by Rikki’s taxi service (through a connection to the great work we did for 2OceansVibe mentioned in our last newsletter), to help them bring in a new innovation into some of their fleet. They’ve installed in-cab TV screens, to add an extra element of local information and offerings to their passengers and clients, and came to us to complete the installs for them. They’re locked and loaded, so keep an eye out for them the next time you’re in one of their cabs…

Special offers for September/October

With spring in the air, and summer around the corner, the season for hosting parties and showing off your house is on your doorstep. So it’s the perfect time to get hold of us for your painting and renovating needs. Here at Homefixers, we can give your home or office the affordable facelift it needs. Whether it’s preparation or painting of wall surfaces, soffits, fascias, sills, windows, doors, door frames or gates, we’ve got you covered! We can even do pressure cleaning of roofs, or roof coating and waterproofing. In this newsletter, we’re offering an exterior painting special where, for any exterior painting work of three fulls days or longer, we’ll throw in one of the following extras:

• A qualified and experienced Paint Technician from our supplier will do an assessment on your property first (inspect damp quantity in walls, what paint to use, proper preparation, etc.)
• We’ll clean and seal all of your gutters.
• We’ll have all paving around your property pressure cleaned of all winter growth (moss, etc.)
• Get the advice of a professional interior decorator on wall colours (also possible with interior painting).
• All doors/windows/gates to be checked and any minor repairs serviced on the same day (any major repairs will be added to invoice).

Price changes and year-round savings

We also thought we’d let you know that, yes, the inevitable is happening, and our prices are being adjusted ever so slightly. Our day labour rate (ex-VAT) is being adjusted from R1850 to R1950, and our hour rate (also ex-VAT) is going from R250 to R270. The last time we changed our prices was two and half years ago, so whereas everyone else’s has been notched up annually without fail, we’ve been absorbing as much as we can for a good while. That, and when you consider that those are only a 5.4% and 8% change respectively (and our call-out fee is unchanged!), we hope you’ll see that we’re still trying to provide great value, and look after our customers’ wallets as much as possible!

And just to re-iterate our year-round savings and incentives: Most of you will know about the 10% prompt payment discount available on labour costs, for those who pay their account in full within 5 days of the invoice date. In our last newsletter, we also introduced a new incentive, which is that if you accept a quote within 24 hours of it being sent to you, we’ll also chop 10% off of all materials quoted. This extra incentive has been met with a great response since our last communication, so be sure to take advantage of it like so many others have :)
