It's fine to turn on the heating, but it won't do you much good if you have a draft blowing in through gaps in windows and doors.
You can dramatically increase the energy efficiency of your home (and your comfort) by installing weather strips on doors and windows.
Our Price:
The cost of weather proofing is completely dependant on the house in question, so we will bill based on material used and time spent at the property. Top quality weather strip sells at about R25 per metre (a door will use about 5m and a window approximately 2.5m). Application time will be approximately 15 minutes per door or window.
So to give you some rough ideas of full costs including call out, labour and materials:
1 door and 2 windows: Approx R490
2 doors and 4 windows: Approx R850
3 doors and 8 windows: Approx R1,190
WEATHER-PROOF YOUR HOME - DOOR SEALS
Another super idea is to install a bottom door seal which works in conjunction with the weather strips to completely shut out all draughts coming through the doors.
We offer three different options (material cost only):

1. Standard Bottom Seal, Rubber Strip - R75 per door
2. Brush Strip Door Seal, Bristled Strip - R140 per door
3. Storm Proof Door Seal - R290
These strips will take approximately 30 minutes to install, except for the storm proof seal which requires the door to be taken off and planed for the installation. This will take approximately 90 minutes.
LIGHT SENSORS
It's getting darker muc
h earlier and lighter much later now, meaning that many of us are coming home to a dark property after work. This is a potential security risk. Have you considered installing a sensor activated light? We can install sensors which turn on your lights, either due to movement (so it activates when there is movement close by) or based on a light sensor (so it activates when it gets dark and deactivates when it gets light, staying on throughout the night).

THE GEYSER BLANKET
Eskom estimates that 51.8% of the energy used in heating water can be saved (keeping the thermostat at the same temperature) just by adding 50mm of insulation.
A geyser blanket is perfect for this, and at approximately R300 per blanket it offers an inexpensive solution to the current energy crisis.

R595 for a geyser blanket and full installation.
R1,095 for two geysers.
R1,495 for three geysers.
DIGITAL GEYSER THERMOSTAT
Manually switching your geyser on and off at the DB board can be very time consuming, and incredibly irritating when you forget to switch it back on! Geyser Wise have a great controller which allows you to set the switch on and switch off times of your geyser, set the temperature and it also warns you of geyser problems (like element failure, scale build up etc) potentially saving you thousands of Rands in the future.
It does all of this on a keypad in a convenient location (up to 10m away from the geyser itself).
The cost of these units is approximately R999, but we have managed to get an improved price from the suppliers and we can offer you a fantastic price including installation.
